Has not time come for President Nasheed to stop meddling with Islam?

Maria might have told him that the majority of people support the form of Islam she practices: mocking Quranic Laws and lifetime of its prophet. But today following the successful protest led by the Union of NGOs President Nasheed needs to come to sense that not even his party members accept his blemphimous actions.


As we promised earlier, even grassroot members of MDP have joined the protest to show their love for Islam and to condemn the actions of their president and his ministers and senior people in the government who have no respect for the religion. It is clearly seen that people like Histo was correct to say that MDP should not have protested against the Union of NGOs, who backed President Nasheed to come to power in the last presidential election.

If the President Nasheed is a sensible man and want to remain a popular political figure he would sack peoplelike Fareesha Abdulla, Bodu Naseer and other islamophobic senior staff at the President Office before all the MDP members say no to Anni. The President can run the country and remain popular without promoting the anti-Islam cause of this small group. If the President has little faith, please keep it to yourself rather than talking your empty mind.
